Call 337-893-5664 ext 3 to join us for our next project in 2022.  Volunteers are always welcome and NEEDED.... NO BOOTS, Hats are recommended due to the heat.

The Vermilion Soil and Water Conservation District (VSWCD) in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Office of Soil and Water Conservation (OSWC), Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF), the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR), Audubon, and Earth Team Volunteers held it's annual re-vegetation project November of 2020.

The main objective of this project is to attempt to create new marsh, increase stability, lessen erosion and create habitat for wildlife and provide a seed source for natural regeneration.

With successful re-vegetation projects since 1994, the Vermilion Soil and Water Conservation District is already planning in partnership with NRCS, OSWC, LDAF and LDNR for the next successful project in 2022.

Anyone interested in participating in these revegetation projects can contact Mitzi Dohrman at the VSWCD office at 337-893-5664 ext 3.
